Show Fee/Rules . . .
1. Rustic Trail (RT) riders show in 3 classes at a cost of $75/rider. Fun Class is $5/rider.
2. Riders will wear boots, long pants, helmet, polo shirt (tucked in), and belt. Show attire is optional (but encouraged if you already have it).
3. Ribbons awarded in each class for first, second, and third place. All remaining riders will receive fourth place ribbons. Prizes awarded for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place for the fun class - all participants get a surprise.
4. Ribbon for High Point in each level (1, 1.5, 2. 2.5).
Class Information
Horse in Hand. Judge the knowledge and application of safe and effective horse-handling skills on the ground. You will also be judged on the appearance of both you and your horse. Pattern will be posted two weeks before show.
Equitation. Judge the performance of the rider (knowledge and application of classic seat and progression of proper cues/aids for Western and English riders). Level 1 will ride together and each have an assistant in the arena, Level 1.5 will go one at a time with an assistant nearby, Level 2 & 2.5 will ride as a group in their respective classes.
Ground Poles. Judge the equitation of the beginner hunt seat rider or Western trail rider over a course of ground poles. The course plan will be posted one week before show day.
Crossrails. Judge the equitation of the beginner hunter/jumper over a course of crossrails that will be a maximum of 12" at the X. The course should be trotted. The course plan will be posted one week before show day.
Hunter Equitation over Fences. Judge the equitation of the beginner hunter/jumper over a course of low verticals and spreads that will be a maximum of 2 feet. The course will include trotting and cantering. The course plan will be posted one week before the show day.
Family and guests are encouraged to attend the show. Remind them to dress in pasture-safe clothes (ants, manure, bugs, dust, heat, rain, and such) and bring a lawn chair.
